Char-Broil Advantage Series 4-Burner Gas Grill
Char-Broil Advantage Series 4-Burner Gas Grill
Char-Broil's Advantage Series Gas Grills are one of their most popular product lines. They come in 2, 3, 4 and 6 burner models. Some have black enamel lids, others have stainless steel lids. Some have enclosed carts with doors, some carts are just a frame with a solid front panel. Large for a low price, this $200, 4-Burner stainless is the best seller in the Advantage line.
Four low powered 8,000 BTU main burners and one 10,000 BTU side burner don't pack a lot of power, although the porcelain coated cast iron grates will get hot enough to create grill marks and the hood is double walled to hold in some heat. 2-zone cooking is an essential technique for many BBQ recipes and this good sized, 4-burner makes setting up a direct and indirect zone easy. There is a porcelain coated steel wire warming rack that swivels back and out of the way when you open the hood. Electronic ignition. Low grade stainless steel lid and control panel suggest that shiny appearance many find appealing, but the open air cart is just a black painted steel frame with a storage shelf at the bottom for an LP tank.
It's not our first choice by any means, but if you really have a tight budget, you can pick this up for a couple hundred bucks or even less if it's on sale. Many people have and seem reasonably happy to accept this grill for what it is – made cheap to sell cheap and hopefully last at least a few years. 5 year warranty on the burners, 1 year for everything else.
