If one of my recipes or tips made you a hero, I'd love to hear about it. But the best way to say "thanks" is with a donation. It costs money to buy grills, accessories, charcoal, camera gear, web hosting, and food to produce these pages (there are now more than 300 articles on this site)!

If you donate $25 or more, I'll send you a cool 100% cotton brushed twill, adjustable low profile, embroidered cap with my Zen of BBQ logo embroidered on it plus a sample of BBQr's Delight all natural hardwod smoke pellets.

The best way to send me your questions, recipes, feedback, criticisms, and ideas is to use the comment forms on the bottom of every page. I see them all, and so do other readers who might have an interesting response.

Do me a favor, though, before you email me your question: Please use the search box first. Good chance your question is answered somewhere in the hundreds of pages on this site.

The most common problem: The vast majority of the questions I get can be answered "Don't believe your grill thermometer or meat thermometer unless it is a good digital." The cheap bi-metal themometers that come on grills and smokers can be off by 50F! Even the really cool looking ones. And most grill thermometers measure the temp near the lid, not the temp at the grate near the meat. There can be a 20F difference from dome to grate. Also, for most meats you really really should use a good digital meat thermometer to prevent over or undercooking. As little as 5F can be the diff between moist and tender or cardboard. Read my buying guide to thermometers and my meat temperature guide.

Yet another thing: I get a lot of emails asking what I think of this or that smoker, and which one should you buy. I have typed my fingers to the nub telling you just about everything I know about them in the Buyer's Guide, so there not much more I can tell you in an email.

Finally: If you would like me to link to your website, please read my links policy first. If you would like to advertise on AmazingRibs.com, click here to see a rate card.

Response time: I get a lot of email, so if you have meat on the grill, don't count on an answer before dinner time. But so far I've been able to respond to most inquiries, usually within a week. Dunno how much longer I can keep it up...

Meathead's Hot Stuff Awards are highly recommended products that I have tested personally or that have been tested by reliable sources. Awards are based on features, quality, and value. GrillGrates Take Your Grill Into the Infrared Zone

Hot Stuff Barbecue AwardGrillGrates are the best new product I have tested in years and the best thing to happen to beef since salt and pepper.

They sit on top of your current grill's grates. The hard anodized aircraft grade aluminum rail tops are flat and wide and make perfect dark crunchy grill marks. The base superheats yet eliminates hot spots and blocks flareups. This is the same concept behind the expensive new infrared grills.

Juices drip in the valleys between the rails and are vaporized and penetrate the meat enhancing flavor. I throw wood between the rails and they impart a delicate smoke flavor. I have made my best steaks and burgers ever with Grill Grates. This is a really great new product! Click here to read more and for ordering info.
