PlaceholderBoxy pellet smoker with high profile shiny lid and black body on for legs with four wheels and a lower shelf.
The SPG-610 is Sawtooth's mid-size pellet smoker. Light weight, only 149 pounds, 47" wide x 22" deep x 50" high. The high profile hood has a 14" clearance which also facilitates use of an optional second shelf to increase capacity. The hopper is on the right and doubles as a prep shelf along with the flat top hood. Optional small prep shelves that attach to the front and left side are... Read More

PlaceholderBlack bullet shaped smoker on short legs on the left, smaller black grill on the right.
The Southern Country 2 in 1 Water Smoker and Charcoal Grill, as the name indicates, can be used as a bullet style water smoker, or converted to a "lock and go" portable grill. The clever design allows you to remove the midsection, then place the lid on the base and turn clockwise until it locks. Grab the handle and go! When smoking, it is easy to add wood chips, chunks, or pellets with... Read More

PlaceholderBlack bullet shaped smoker with domed lid on short legs. An electric power cord comes from the back.
Meco, the company that owns Aussie Grills, sold two Electric Smokers under the Meco label, but recently decided to rename the brand Southern Country. They also refer to them as Aussie Electric Smokers. There are only two models and whether you call them Meco, Aussie or Southern Country the model numbers are 5029 and 5030. They are basically the same except the 5030 is black coated... Read More

PlaceholderA black upright cabinet with the door open showing racks of food in the middle and top sections and a pan at the bottom. A box with electric push buttons is attached to the left side at floor level.
The Bradley Original Electric Smoker is the only smoker they make without a digital thermostat. It consists of a front loading cabinet with a patented "smoke generator" on the side. The smoke generator burns proprietary wood "bisquettes," puck like disks of compressed sawdust, and blows the smoke into the cabinet which has a cooking element. Like pellets, bisquettes are efficient energy... Read More

PlaceholderBlack horizontal barrel smoker mounted on four legs with two wheels. A smaller black barrel is attached to the left side and a chimney is located on the right side.
We do not like or recommend cheap offset smokers like American Gourmet. Yes, the sticker price is low, the big horizontal drum looks like your BBQ dream come true, and if you don't mind spending time and money for parts, (not to mention ruined meat), you may eventually get one to work OK. But they are a nightmare for a novice and by the time you add your hours and out of pocket expenses... Read More

Char-Broil's Silver Smoker, for some strange reason painted black, is extremely popular because it is inexpensive. It is cheaply constructed and rusts easily. It leaks smoke around the chimney and doors, and rain gets in around the chimney. It has 738 square inches of cooking area, enough for about seven slabs of St. Louis cut ribs. Because it is not as tight as the more expensive... Read More

PlaceholderBlack upright bullet smoker placed in a silvery base with an electric control panel and an electric power cord.
Char-Broil's Big Easy Electric Infrared Smoker and Roaster has a clever, innovative design looks better on paper than in practice. It is also offered in a gas model. It is barrel shaped and opens from the top. There is a stainless steel inner liner that is separated from the outer shell by an air gap. Electric heating elements turn the liner into a radiant heater. Calling it infrared is... Read More

Char-Broil's The Big Easy Gas TRU Infrared Smoker and Roaster has a clever, innovative design looks better on paper than in practice. They also make an electric model. It is barrel shaped and opens from the top. There is a stainless steel inner liner that is separated from the outer shell by an air gap. A ring of propane burner jets lies in the bottom of the air gap and heats the gap... Read More

Char-Griller tried to hop on the pellet smoker bandwagon with this halfhearted attempt at making a mid-size product. Had they introduced this closer to 2010 at the same price, it would have been a viable entry level pellet smoker. Now it's a relic, made by a company with notoriously poor quality. Although it does have an old Ortech style notched dial digital controller, which is better... Read More

1) Please try the table of contents or the search box at the top of every page before you ask for help.

2) Try to post your question to the appropriate page.

3) Tell us everything we need to know to help such as the type of cooker and thermometer. Dial thermometers are often off by as much as 50°F so if you are not using a good digital thermometer we probably can't help you with time and temp questions. Please read this article about thermometers.
