PlaceholderTall black upright barrel with a chimney on top and large handle on the right side. A smaller horizontal barrel is attached to the bottom left. It is mounted on two legs and two large wheels.
On October 8, 2015, Brinkmann filed for Chapter 11 under the US bankruptcy code.  The Brinkmann Trailmaster 57" Vertical Smoker is one of the few Vertical Offsets on the market. We advise readers to avoid purchasing cheap horizontal barrel offsets, but this inexpensive vertical smoker mitigates the basic design flaw of horizontal offsets: heat travels upward not sideways. The vertical... Read More

PlaceholderTwo black horizontal barrel grills mounted side by side on a red trailer with wheels.
On October 8, 2015, Brinkmann filed for Chapter 11 under the US bankruptcy code.  The Brinkmann Roadmaster is their Dual Function Charcoal/Gas Smoker and Grill on wheels. We don't care for these combo grills because we feel you can usually get better equipment by purchasing a separate charcoal and gas grill, and if one of them drops dead, it's not joined at the hip to the other. That... Read More

PlaceholderBlack horizontal offset smoker with a chimney on the left and firebox on the right. Mounted on four legs with two wheels and a lower shelf.
On October 8, 2015, Brinkmann filed for Chapter 11 under the US bankruptcy code.  There was a time when the Brinkmann name appeared on line of serious smokers that were made so solid they came with a 75-year limited warranty! The Cimarron, Longhorn and Southfork smokers were built with tight tolerances and made with 1/4 inch steel. Turns out they were actually made for Brinkmann by the... Read More

PlaceholderBlack kakamdo smoker with a wood handle up front and black shelves on each side placed on a patio with shrubbery in the background.
Black Olive's patented design is billed as "The World's First Pellet Kamado Grill". The novel concept grabbed the attention of many who didn't pause to ask why one would actually want such a thing. While we love the fact that thermostatically controlled pellet smokers can be set to temperature just like a kitchen oven, even kamado owners of moderate skill find it relatively easy to hold... On October 8, 2015, Brinkmann filed for Chapter 11 under the US bankruptcy code.  The Brinkmann All-In-One Gas & Charcoal Smoker, Grill & Fryer is a cheapo versatile bullet that is best when cooking with gas, but can be adapted to cook with charcoal. Read more about setups for Charcoal Bullet Smokers. It can also be used as a smoker, brazier, or deep fryer. This was Meathead's... Read More

On October 8, 2015, Brinkmann filed for Chapter 11 under the US bankruptcy code.  Brinkmann Charcoal Bullet Smokers are also known as El Cheapo Brinkmanns or ECBs for short. They come in a few different styles: Gourmet, Smoke 'N Grill, Sportsman and Cook'N Ca'Jun II. The El Cheapo price makes them very popular, but we can't recommend any BBQ ECBs primarily because there are no vents in... Read More

PlaceholderKamado Grills aka Kamado.com - OUT OF BUSINESS
This troubled company has been sold and the new owner claims he started over and completely redesigned the entire product line which is manufactured in the USA under a different name. We were never able to find pictures or prices or much of anything about Kamado Grills except for complaints. BUT LOOKOUT! It appears the original owner has resurfaced with a sketchy website: http://... Read More

PlaceholderBlack bullet shaped upright smoker with domed lid. There are handles on each side and on the lid. A small shiny steel door is located in front.
The Master Forge Charcoal Smoker/Griller, like the notorious El Cheapo Brinkmann line, is a low cost bullet smoker aka water smoker. Like Brinkmann bullets, this Master Forge smoker is tough to use. Charcoal is burnt in a pan with holes running along the side.  No charcoal grate is included to raise the coal off the bottom of the pan, and no dampers are included either. The poor design... Britt's Barbecue stopped making smokers in 2008. The Jedmaster 2635 Legend was popular with some of the top cooks on the BBQ competition circuit. The Legend is a flip-top charcoal fueled rotisserie grill/smoker combo with three 9" x 28" chrome plated cooking surfaces (pictured). Made of heavy 14 gauge, powder-coated carbon steel. There is a commercial grade thermometer mounted in the... Read More

PlaceholderBlack cube with two front doors latched shut with shiny steel latches. A triangular plate on top reads "Onyx Oven".
THE ONYX OVEN IS DISCONTINUED AND HAS BEEN REPLACED BY A SIMILAR CHARCOAL CABINET SMOKER CALLED SHOTGUN BBQ SMOKER. This cabinet style BBQ smoker looks good on paper, but we never laid hands on one. It is double walled with insulation in between (like a refrigerator), very lightweight (only 83 pounds), and it looks to have heavy hinges, heavy latches, air tight doors. It can low and... 1) Please try the table of contents or the search box at the top of every page before you ask for help.

2) Try to post your question to the appropriate page.

3) Tell us everything we need to know to help such as the type of cooker and thermometer. Dial thermometers are often off by as much as 50°F so if you are not using a good digital thermometer we probably can't help you with time and temp questions. Please read this article about thermometers.

4) If you are a member of the Pitmaster Club, your comments login is probably different than your membership login.
