Lang's 36" Hybrid Patio Smoker combines their popular 36" residential smoker with a 30" charcoal grill. We always give thumbs down to those low cost combo cookers that consist of a gas grill bolted to a cheap offset smoker because each side is poor quality, neither side performs well, and you can get better equipment by purchasing a separate grill and smoker. Not so with Lang's Hybrid.... Read More

M Grill's M1 charcoal/wood cooker plants a reverse flow smoker and charcoal grill under one lid. Weighing in at 385 pounds of thick 10 gauge coated steel and high quality 304 stainless steel, this versatile, heavy metal machine should hold temperature stabile and remain in service for many years. There are two choices for fuel placement: the firebox for smoking, and a separate... Read More

MAK Grills have the distinction of being Meathead's favorite pellet smokers. He tested their 1 Star General and 2 Star General Residential Pellet Smokers. MAK also makes a large double firepot 3 Star General. Here is Meathead's review on the 1 Star General.

At the time of this writing in summer of 2020 I am working on my third pellet smoker from MAK Grills. In the past I have had a MAK 1 Star General and a MAK 2 Star General. I got my first in June 2012.  I now have the latest model 2-Star General that MAK upgraded in April 2019. I have changed models not because they broke or wore out, but because I love MAKs and the manufacturer sent me... Read More

The Meadow Creek BBQ26 looks like a giant Hibachi, with no lid, this boring black box is 32" long by 21" wide by 20.5" tall on heavy wire legs. It weighs a substantial 60 pounds. You'd be pardoned for thinking it is just another portable grill, but you'd be wrong. It is really a killer tailgater in disguise.

Although it can handle a small hog, Meadow Creek's PR36 does much more. This is one versatile cooker. There is a deep trough and a tall lid with a solid strong hinge. A tray for charcoal hangs inside the trough 6" below the grate. Load it up and you can bring coal very close to the food for a quick hot sear. Or, if you wish, coals can be placed right on the bottom of the trough. You can... Read More

Memphis Pellet Smokers are extremely well built and designed. We tested the Memphis Pro and Meathead himself proclaimed it, "one of the best cookers I've ever had the pleasure to use". They may be ordered as drop-ins for installation or on a cart. Our posted price includes the cart.

Although MHP makes a large, newer styled stainless grill, the WNK4 is the largest model that retains their classic design. Made with cast aluminum, it is practically indestructible. It will withstand harsh weather, abuse, and never rust. MHP owners love to brag about how old their grill is, how they never clean it, and especially how they never cover it. I remember these big black boxes... Read More

The Napoleon Prestige P500RSIB is a very nice, high-end, cart-mounted, gas grill at an affordable price, competitive with Weber Summit, Saber's all stainless models and Broil King's Imperial Series, but it is not the top of the line Napoleon. Their naming conventions are confusing, with about 12 lines of grills. The Prestige Series is fourth in the pecking order behind the Prestige II,... Read More

2) Tell us everything we need to know to help such as the type of cooker and thermometer. Dial thermometers are often off by as much as 50°F so if you are not using a good digital thermometer we probably can't help you with time and temp questions. Please read this article about thermometers.
