Cooper DFP450W Review

Cooper DFP450W Review

This relatively inexpensive thermometer features excellent accuracy, fast response time, and several nice features. It cannot be left in the oven while cooking.

In addition to the usual on/off and F/C switches, there is a Mode button that serves several purposes. It acts as a Hold button, a Max and Min button, and an alarm button. One press holds, another press displays max temp, a third press displays min temp. The max and min values can be reset by holding down the mode switch for a few seconds while displaying the temperatures. The alarm function will flash the display when a user-set temperature has been exceeded, and this feature can be turned on and off. The user setting is retained when the unit is powered off. The unit will shut itself off automatically after ten minutes to conserve battery life. The thermometer comes with a battery installed plus a spare.

The manufacturer’s contact information is printed on the packaging and on the multi-lingual operating pamphlet. It comes with a lifetime warranty.

We give this food thermometer a gold rating for its combination of excellent performance, low price and features.

3) Tell us everything we need to know to help such as the type of cooker and thermometer. Dial thermometers are often off by as much as 50°F so if you are not using a good digital thermometer we probably can’t help you with time and temp questions. Please read this article about thermometers.
