ThermoPro TP-15 Instant Read Thermometer Review

ThermoPro TP-15 Instant Read Thermometer Review

The ThermoPro TP-15 is the latest addition to a broad product line from the company. It is a hand-held instant read unit that responds quickly. It cannot be left in food while it is cooking.

The design favors right-handed users as the display will not rotate when the instrument is turned over. It features switchable temperature scales – Fahrenheit and Celsius, a backlight, a temperature hold button, and an on/off button. The unit can be recalibrated using an ice water bath if desired. The back of the unit has recommended temperatures for a range of doneness, but these numbers run 10-15° higher than I would use.

The probe is long, at 5.5″ (14cm), and has a thin tip. Accuracy is very good, and the response time is within a second or two of the fastest units on the market. The unit is apparently well-sealed and can be washed under running water, according to the manufacturer. It is powered by a single CR2032 button battery that is included.

The unit has a one year warranty that is extendable to three years if you register it on the product’s website. Contact info is provided on the instruction sheet should you have questions or need assistance.

This nicely-made unit performs very well, appears well-designed, and comes with a low price tag. What more could you want? A well-deserved top rating.

3) Tell us everything we need to know to help such as the type of cooker and thermometer. Dial thermometers are often off by as much as 50°F so if you are not using a good digital thermometer we probably can’t help you with time and temp questions. Please read this article about thermometers.
