ThermoWorks ProNeedle Instant Read Thermometer Review
The ThermoWorks ProNeedle is a compact handheld instant read thermometer that exhibits excellent accuracy and rapid response times. It is available in three colors and comes with a sheath to protect the probe. The back of the thermometer has a clip to secure the unit in a pocket between uses.

The probe is one of the thinnest we’ve seen, and that contributes to its fast response to temperature changes – the hallmark of a good handheld thermometer. The housing is sealed against moisture, and immersion in water will not harm the unit, making it easy to clean after use.

The on/off button doubles as a backlight button. There is also a “hold” button to capture the reading, and a min/max button to capture temperature range. A final button changes from Fahrenheit to Celsius and back. The display rotates as the thermometer is oriented in different directions, making it easy to read from any angle. If needed, the unit can be recalibrated by the user.

The manufacturer claims that the unit will operate for 3000 hours on a single CR1632 button battery. The thermometer will automatically shut itself off after 35 minutes to save battery life.

The instructions are clear and complete, and the manufacturer’s contact info can be found on the instruction sheet should technical assistance be required.

This is a well-made product from one of the leading companies in the field. The build quality is excellent, and so is the performance. ThermoWorks has earned another Gold Medal.

3) Tell us everything we need to know to help such as the type of cooker and thermometer. Dial thermometers are often off by as much as 50°F so if you are not using a good digital thermometer we probably can’t help you with time and temp questions. Please read this article about thermometers.
