For years he has been a fixture at BBQ industry trade shows, competitions, and is well-known in barbecue circles. He has counted among his clients Weber Grills, Sunbeam, Coleman, and Char-Broil.
With 750+ vintage grills and smokers, he is the Guinness World Record holder for the largest barbecue grill collection, and has amassed more than 2,500 outdoor cooking books, magazines and catalogs. He is a Certified BBQ Judge for the Kansas City Barbeque Association, Memphis in May Association, Steak Cookoff Association, and the Georgia Barbecue Association, and he has eaten in more than 1,000 BBQ restaurants and his shirts have the stains to prove it.
