On October 8, 2015, Brinkmann filed for Chapter 11 under the US bankruptcy code.
The Brinkmann Roadmaster is their Dual Function Charcoal/Gas Smoker and Grill on wheels. We don’t care for these combo grills because we feel you can usually get better equipment by purchasing a separate charcoal and gas grill, and if one of them drops dead, it’s not joined at the hip to the other. That said, if you want a grill on a trailer, you’ll be hard pressed to find a package like this for $1000. They even throw in an offset firebox and 25,000 BTU Fryer. However, with just over 1000 square inches of primary cooking surface, this system is undersized for commercial use.
The trailer rolls on two 12″ wheels so don’t stray too far from home and watch out for pot holes. It has a retractable hitch stand to hold it level when unhitched and a built-in storage box. You get a three burner gas grill and a matching charcoal grill with offset fire box. Each grill has 403 square inches of primary cooking surface and the BBQ firebox has 275 square inches of cook surface. The fryer is mounted at the front by the propane tank.
At one time Brinkmann had three trailer mounted models, the Roadmaster is the last of the lot. Home Depot used to sell Roadmasters, but they have been discontinued even as an online purchase. So if you want one, call Brinkmann. This is what will show up at your door and you’ll have hours of fun putting it together: the assembly instructions are 23 pages long.
