Solaire makes luxury freestanding and drop in infrared grills in 27", 30", 36", 42" and 56 " models. They also offer two portables. All models are high quality 304 stainless with seamless welds. Some units come in 314 marine grade stainless as well.
Solaire was an early entrant to the infrared grill market. Many buyers were frustrated with the new and different IR technology that was great at searing steaks, but had limited lower temperature ranges. Some complained IR burners got so hot so fast their foods were easily overcooked and burned. Even now Solaire recommends par-boiling or pressure cooking large meats like brisket and ribs. But they have a better solution called infravection. By replacing one or more IR burners with an optional convection conversion kit, which consists of a traditional U-burner with stainless steel vaporizer plate, customers are able to enjoy two zone cooking with a powerful sear section and conventional zone for indirect heat.
To further educate customers and avoid dissatisfaction and complaints, Solaire instituted a "Try before you buy" program. For about $150, curious consumers receive a table top Accent grill that allows the uninitiated to experience the super searing heat of a Solaire IR burner and observe the quality construction that justifies Solaire's luxury pricing. After two weeks the Accent grill goes back to Solaire and the $150 can be applied to a purchase.
They offer side burners, griddles, warmers, refrigerators and a steamer/fryer to help complete an outdoor kitchen. Available direct and at many independent Hearth and Patio stores. Solaire is owned by Rasmussen Iron Works, makers of high quality artificial gas logs.
