This system harkens back to Blue Ember’s promise of innovation when they first introduced grills with digital electronics. The SonarQue Fuel Monitor puts a digital read out of your fuel level right on the control panel.
It has a 12,000 BTU IR back burner and comes with a rotisserie kit. A built in BBQ smoke box is also included along with fold down side shelves with integrated cooking tool hooks, built-in resin ice bucket /condiment tray and a bottle opener.
Blue Ember offers quality grills with nice features. Made in China by Canadians, Blue Ember may be on the way out for Onward Manufacturing’s product line.
Product Information:
Manufacturer:
Blue Ember manufactures a line of stainless steel and enamel coated gas grills that offer some nice upgrades like hood lights and built in bottle openers, but theyย had quality issues in the pastย that culminated in a serious recall of 113,000 units in 2009. In 2010 Blue Ember was purchased by the large BBQ manufacturer and distributer, Onward Manufacturing, and the entire line was redesigned. These grills are attractive and offer some nice features for their $399 to $999 price points, but sales in the United States have been limited. For now they appear to be at best, a red haired step child in Onward’s grill line. Although some models are still available, production is on hold, and the future on Blue Ember is uncertain. Onward also owns Broil King, Broil-Mate, Huntington, Fiesta and Porta Chef.ย They are switching focus to their Broil King Brand. Many Broil King models are now avaiable in Lowe’s.
Blue Ember is priced in the range of Weber’s Genesis line. While the warranty of 10 years on cast aluminum components, 5 years on burners and 2 years on remaining parts is in line with many popular brands in this range, it is not as good as Weber’s. They do not offer accessories and tools.
