Dancook started in 1992 as a family owned business in Denmark to address a growing demand for backyard grills and smokers. The Danes have a long tradition of cooking outdoors and embraced American style BBQ enthusiastically. In fact, Denmark is Weber’s biggest export market per capita and they sponsor The Danish National BBQ Team.
As Dancook popularity grew, US manufacturing giant Char-Broil took interest. In 2011 Char-Broil bought Dancook and placed it in the care of their new premium gas grill label, Saber. Indeed these two brands complement one another.
All manufacturing remains in Denmark. As with Saber, there are no plans to sell in big box stores. Saber is introducing Dancook to their indy hearth and patio distributors in the US and leveraging Dancook’s European distribution to increase visibility of Char-Broil properties there.
