Vision Professional C-Series Kamado Review

Share on:
Vision Professional C Series Kamado

A hand on the right pulls a black metal tray from a black opening. The tray is full of ashes.

Vision’s Professional C Series Kamado has some unique and interesting features not found on other ceramics. Their ProZone System (above) is a slide out ash tray with dual intake dampers and a slot for the included electric fire starter. One large damper is for coarse air adjustments while a smaller one facilitates fine-tuning. A calibrated cast iron exhaust damper located at the top of the dome also has coarse and fine adjustment capability. Click here to learn more about controlling heat with vents.

Shiny metal plate attached to a control panel, slid out from a black structure.

Vision’s goal is to make use easier – easier start up, easier ash removal. To this end they created the optional Quickchange Gas Insert (above) that may be swapped out with the ProZone to turn the S Series from a kamado to a gas grill for a quick work night dinner. Quickchange is a slide out 25,000 BTU stainless steel burner that includes a heat exchanger and Visions round Lava Rock diffuser and stainless steel bracket. The LP tank hose has a quick connect end and a round LP Tank Caddy with a wheel that attaches to the cart is also included. Vision claims once the kamado is seasoned, foods will have a hint of BBQ smoke flavor even when grilled on gas. The C Series comes with a Lava Rock Diffuser, so if you buy Quickchange, you’ll have two. Vision suggests you use one as a pizza stone. There have been isolated reports of difficulty sliding the Quickchange burner in and out. We’re told this is an anomaly that is being corrected. Meanwhile, Vision assures us they can and will take care of any buyers who experience this issue. Call Vision Customer Service at 314-428-3166.

Round kamado with lid up showing the steel rod cooking grate. Another smaller grate on short legs is placed on top of the main grate.

You gotta love the stainless steel two level hinged cooking grates (above) that are characteristic of Vision. The top grate is hinged for easy access to the lower level, which is also hinged for adding wood and tending to charcoal. Speaking of hinges, the dome hinge is substantial enabling smooth opening and a shock absorbing bumper up front insures a delicate landing when closing the heavy hood.

This nice package deal includes a solid, powder coated stand on four casters with fold down wood side shelves and a cover. Lifetime warranty on the ceramic, 5 years on metal parts, and 90 days on everything else.
