ThermoWorks RT616 Super-Fast Mini Thermometer Review

The ThermoWorks RT616 Super-Fast Mini Thermometer has excellent accuracy and very rapid response times. It cannot be left in the oven/grill while cooking.

This small hand-held thermometer has a holster/belt clip with an interesting feature: it turns the unit on and off. No need to search for a button, just whip it out and stick it in! When you’re finished, replace it in its holster and it turns itself off to save batteries. It will also turn itself off after a while even if it is not replaced in the holster. It has a hold feature and min/max functionality, as well as the ability to switch between F and C scales. At 2.9″/7.3cm, the probe is on the short side for some applications. The display is on the small side as well.

The manufacturer’s contact info, including telephone number and website, is found on the instruction sheet. There is no explicit warranty state, but this company stands behind its products. There is a number listed should warranty service be needed.

We like the small size and fine performance of this unit, as well as the auto-on and auto-off feature. We give it a gold metal for features, construction and performance.

3) Tell us everything we need to know to help such as the type of cooker and thermometer. Dial thermometers are often off by as much as 50ยฐF so if you are not using a good digital thermometer we probably can’t help you with time and temp questions. Please read this article about thermometers.
