Plus a budget pellet cooker, Smoque, a 28-inch griddle, and an expanded Weber Works accessories line
Before the official announcement, our team was invited to company headquarters for an exclusive sneak peek at Weber’s 2025 product lineup. Here’s what’s in store for consumers this year!
The big news for 2025 is a “reimagined” new lineup of Spirit, Weber’s most popular gas grill. Introduced in 1995 as an entry-level gasser, Weber celebrates Spirit’s 30th birthday with a significant redesign that the company describes as, “offering an upgraded cooking experience, greater versatility, and enhanced firepower through proprietary Boost Burner Technology.”
2025 also sees the addition of an entry-level pellet smoker line called Smoque, a lower-cost complement to their excellent Searwood combo pellet grills/smokers. In addition, Weber expanded their Slate Griddles line, adding a 28″ freestanding size to their existing 30″ and 36″ models. They also added a few new goodies to the Weber Works line of accessories, which came out with Slate Griddles in 2024 and has been expanded and incorporated into the new Weber Spirit and Smoque cookers as well.
Here’s more detail on Weber’s 2025 product lineup.
Spirit
The most striking redesign element for Spirit 2025 is Weber’s proprietary Boost Burner System. We haven’t seen anything that looks like it. These Boost Burners are meant to provide an extra high gear from the main burners when searing temps are needed. Weber claims they can hit 750°F. The unusual design doesn’t work by just turning the control knob clockwise past “High” to a “High +” setting. Boost kicks in by turning the knob counterclockwise past the “Low” setting.
For a burst of flame.
We haven’t tested those Boost Burners yet, but they looked impressive during Weber’s demonstration.
Snap-Jet flame thrower ignition at each burner replaces Weber’s standard, single, battery powered ignition.
Responding to consumer research, all Spirits have enclosed carts to conceal the LP tank. None have Weber’s LP tank gauge that gives a rough estimate of fuel level by weight.
Basic Spirit models have large, built-in, analog hood temperature gauges. Premium models have a digital temperature gauge mounted on the right side shelf.
None are smart grills that integrate Weber Connect Wi-Fi technology to communicate with Weber’s app on your smart phone.
All can convert from grill to griddle with an optional, rust resistant griddle insert. Upgraded models include a Weber Crafted Frame kit that works with Crafted Accessories such as pizza stones, Dutch ovens and woks.
And all are compatible with the Weber Works Accessories System.
For 2025, Spirit is offered in a variety of two, three and four burner configurations priced from $399 to $799. All models carry Weber’s 10 year limited warranty.
Weber Smoque Wood Pellet Smoker
The new Smoque is a key addition to Weber’s 2025 product lineup. Unlike the company’s groundbreaking Searwood pellet burners that are true combo grills/smokers, capable of low and slow smoking and hot and fast searing, the new Weber Smoque is, “Engineered specifically to excel in the 180°F to 275°F range….With a maximum temperature of 500°F.” So no Searwood searing, but plenty of smoking, roasting, and baking, “at an accessible price point.” Click here to read our Searwood review.
So far, Weber has never produced a pellet smoker with a typical, flat, solid drip tray between the cooking grate above and burn pot below that all other pellet burners use.
They continue to employ an interesting variation on the V-shaped “flavorizer” bars from their gas grills. Smoque’s design, called Smoquevent, is a hybrid that blends a flat drip tray or “grease sheet”, with flavorizer bars. The sheet is angled to divert grease into a grease funnel on the left side.
Like the flavorizer bars on Weber gas grills, Smoque’s bars are meant to vaporize drippings and sizzle up barbeque deliciousness to foods above.
Under the flavorizer bars and all around the perimeter of the grease sheet are vents to circulate hot air and smoke.
To clean, remove the grates and grease sheet, remove the grease funnel and scrape ash into a slide-out ash and grease tray below.
Like Searwood, Weber Smoque may be operated from the control panel on the pellet hopper, or from the Weber Connect app on your smartphone.
Weber Smoque is compatible with Weber Works and Crafted accessories. This new line includes two models: a 22″ for $699 and 34″ XL for $899. Both carry a five-year limited warranty.
Slate Rust-Resistant Griddles
Slate made a splash in the growing griddle scene with its pre-seasoned, rust-resistant cook surface. Weber offers Slate in 30″ and 36″ freestanding models and 22″ and 17″ table tops. For 2025, Weber rolls out a 28″ freestanding model with a price tag of $549 and a five-year limited warranty.
We tested and reviewed the 36″ model when it came out. Here’s a snippet:
“The Slate has been a pleasure to cook on over the last month of testing. Its ease of use ‘right out of the box’ as advertised, featuring a great nonstick cooktop, smooth looks, solid build, powerful burners capable of quick heat-ups, and handy creature comforts and add-ons make it a solid player in the freestanding griddle space.” Read our full, detailed review to learn all about Slate.
Weber Works
Weber Works is a fairly new line of accessories that first appeared in 2024 with Weber’s Slate Griddles and is now being incorporated into the 2025 Spirit line and the new Weber Smoque Pellet Smokers. All new Spirit, Slate, and Smoque models have special rails on the side shelves that accept snap-on Weber Works tool hooks, grill lights, cup holders, and towel racks. Premium models are compatible with side table drop-in accessories like cutting boards and tool caddies. We really like the covered trays that allow you to take prepared foods directly from the indoor kitchen to a secure spot on the outdoor grill.
