A non-stick ribbed griddle cooking surface has a slightly indented center to channel grease into a removable grease cup concealed inside. The cook surface is removable and dishwasher safe.
Temperature is set via a basic Lo to High dial controller. To set a specific temperature one needs a digital thermometer to dial up the desired heat from the 1600 watt element.
