Vision Professional S-Series Kamado

A hand sliding a small tray out from a black structure.

Vision’s Professional S-Series Kamadoย has some unique and interesting features not found on other ceramics.ย Their ProZone System (above) is a slide out ash tray with dual intake dampers and a slot for the optional electric fire starter. A calibrated cast iron exhaust damper is located at the top of the dome. Vision’s goal is to make use easier – easier start up, easier ash removal.

A shiny metal plate slide out from a black enclosure.

To this end they created the Quickchange Gas Insert (above) that may be swapped out with the ProZone to turn the S-Series from a kamado to a gas grill for a quick work night dinner. Quickchange is a slide out 26,500 BTU stainless steel burner that includes a heat exchanger and Vision’s round Lava Rock diffuser and stainless steel bracket. The LP tank hose has a quick connect end and a round LP tank Caddy with a wheel that attaches to the cart is also included. Vision claims once the kamado is seasoned, foods will have a hint of BBQ smoke flavor even when grilled on gas. There have been isolated reports of difficulty sliding the Quickchange burner in and out. We’re told this is an anomaly that is being corrected. Meanwhile, Vision assures us they can and will take care of any buyers who experience this issue. Call Vision Customer Service at 877-917-4273.

Round kamado with lid up showing the steel rod cooking grate. Another smaller grate on short legs is placed on top of the main grate.

You gotta love the stainless steel two level hinged cooking grates (above) that are characteristic of Vision. The top grate is hinged for easy access to the lower level, which is also hinged for adding wood and tending to charcoal. Speaking of hinges, the dome hinge is substantial enabling smooth opening and a shock absorbing bumper up front insures a delicate landing when closing the heavy hood.

This nice package deal includes a solid, powder coated stand on four casters with fold down wood side shelves and a cover. Availableย in black, red, orange, taupe and white.

Lifetime warranty on the ceramic, 5 years on metal parts, and 90 days on everything else.
