Unfortunately this low cost gasser has been discontinued.
The Huntington Classic Model 666664 is the same basic BBQ grill as the higher priced, Lowe’s exclusive model 696264C that has a double wall stainless steel hood and stainless cart doors. The all cast aluminum cookbox of this lower priced Huntington should theoretically maintain even heat better than the stainless hood. It should also be noted that that both models share similarities to Broil King’s Signet line.
Cooking grates are porcelain coated cast iron and heat tents are porcelain coated steel. With three 13,333 BTU stainless steel main burners, a 10,000 BTU side burner and 400 square inches of primary cooking surface, this is a good size grill that can easily be set up for 2-zone cooking. It has side shelves with integrated hooks and condiment trays, two 7″ wheels and two 2.5″ locking casters.
Regarding appearance, don’t judge a grill by its cover. Many shiny inexpensive gassers are inferior machines dolled up with thin flimsy low grade stainless steel. They often carry only a one year warranty, but for a few hundred bucks more you can play the extended warranty game. This unassuming cooker is a good, solid grill with an excellent warranty: Limited lifetime on the aluminum body, 5 years on burners and stainless steel components, and 2 years on everything else.
Yes indeed the box says “Made in America” on most Huntington models except for a few, like this one, that are made in North America, (US and Canada). But Huntington states they are actually, “proudly made in America with domestic and global components.”
Product Information:
Manufacturer:
Huntington has made gas grills in Huntington, IN since the 1980s. In 2009 Canadian BBQ giant, Onward Manufacturing, bought Huntington. Some believe they just wanted a box stamped “Made in America” for all their big boxย customers. Be that as it may, many features from Onward’s beautiful Broil King grills have migrated to Huntington models while Huntington prices have remained low, making them just about the best deal for a low cost grill you’re going to find. A side effect of this synergetic merger resulted in the “Made in America” stamp often being replaced with “Made in North America”.
Huntington is one of five quality brands of Gas Grills owned by Canadian BBQ giant, Onward Manufacturing. Onward also owns the well regarded Broil King, Broil-Mate and Sterling Grill lines, as well as Fiesta, Grill Pro and Barbecue Genius Parts and Accessories. Founded in Canada in 1906 by T.A. Witzel, Onward is now owned and managed by his three grandsons.
