Looks like Lowe’s may be dropping the Master Forge 2-Burner model. Too bad, it was the best product in their Master Forge line. It provided a decent, entry level gasser at a very low price.
About the Master Forge 2-Burner Gas Grill
The Master Forge 2-Burner Cast Aluminum Gas Grill is the only aluminum grill they make. It is also their only model that bears the Made in the USA claim. That’s because it is made for Lowe’s Master Forge brand by Huntington in Huntington, IN. When gas grills began to appear in the early 60s, many were made with cast aluminum because it has good heat retention properties. This model has a 30,000 BTU “Steel Pan Burner”, which is two independently controlled burners fused into one oval shaped device, and porcelain coated wire cooking grates. The lightweight cart features two side shelves, two plastic wheels and two legs.
Master Forge is a brand that people either love or hate. We don’t recommend any of their equipment except this model which is a Huntington with a Master Forege logo. We believe the rest of their stuff is pretty flimsy. Yet, while some owners complain about poor construction, customer service and availability of parts, others love their grills and are eager to shower praise. Additionally, a leading consumer rating service named the Master Forge 5-Burner a top pick for large BBQ gas grills.
