Sawtooth SPG 605 Pellet Grill

The SPG-610 is Sawtooth’s mid-size pellet smoker. Light weight, only 149 pounds, 47″ wide x 22″ deep x 50″ high. The high profile hood has a 14″ clearance which also facilitates use of an optional second shelf to increase capacity. The hopper is on the right and doubles as a prep shelf along with the flat top hood. Optional small prep shelves that attach to the front and left side are also available. Construction is a combo of powder coated steel and stainless steel. The cooking grates are a flat, laser cut stainless steel design. Sawtooth plans on making stainless steel rod grates standard in the future.

Fortunately, Sawtooth abandoned their outdated LMH controllers on the discontinued SP-600 model for modern, digital, thermostatically controlled PIDs. PID controllers are used in many industrial applications to detect and correct error values or fluctuations between a measured value and a desired set point. These accurate devises are found on high quality pellet smokers such as Memphis and REC TEC. Sawtooth can now offer set it and forget it ease of use from 175 F to 550F at 5 degree increments. That’s right folks, throw your BBQ pork shoulder on before going to sleep, set the controller to 225 and sweet dreams.

Distribution is limited to about a dozen dealers out west and direct through the manufacturer. Our posted MSRP is for the basic model. Options may be purchased ala carte or as a “Loaded” model, which includes front and side shelves plus a custom cover for about $150 more.
