CDN DTQ450X Review

This inexpensive probe thermomenter has very good accuracy and a rapid response time, making it a good choice for quick-read applications. It cannot be left in the oven while cooking.

This easy-to-read unit has the usual switches: on/off and F/C, plus a max temp button, a hold button and a calibrate button. There is no backlight, but the display has large numbers, making reading easy. The response time is very good at 5 seconds. The ability to capture the maximum temperature or freeze the current reading make using it effortless. It will auto-shutoff after 10 minutes. It has a self-calibration feature that lets you verify accuracy using an ice bath.

The manufacturer’s contact information is found on the packaging, as are the instructions for operation in English and French. The unit comes with a 5 year limited warranty.

We gave this unit a Gold rating for its clean design, low price, high accuracy, fast response time and good warranty.
