This inexpensive, compact thermometer features good accuracy and a quick response time. The probe might be too short for some users. It cannot be left in the oven while cooking.
The probe on the thermometer is only 2.75″ (70mm) long, making it one of the shortest probes we’ve seen. If you are cooking large roasts, this might be an issue. The usual controls are to be found: on/off, F/C, and Hold buttons. The response time is good at 6 seconds in our tests. There is no backlight, and the display size is middle-of-the-pack. It is field-calibratable in an ice bath to assure accuracy.
The manufacturer’s contact info is on the packaging, as are the instructions for use and calibration. It comes with a one year limited warranty.
We gave this thermometer a Silver rating for its good performance and low price. If you’re considering this unit, be sure that the probe length won’t be an issue for you.
