ThermoWorks RT301WA Super-Fast Pocket Thermometer Review

The ThermoWorks RT301WA is an extremely fast-responding handheld unit with excellent accuracy and basic features. It cannot be left in the oven/grill while cooking.

The unit has two buttons: an on/off and an F/C. It will shut itself off after about an hour if not manually turned off. The unit can be calibrated by removing the screw on the front and adjusting the trim pot underneath.

The manufacturer’s contact info, including telephone number, e-mail and website, is found on the instruction sheet. There is no explicit warranty stated, although the packaging gives a number to call if warranty service is needed. This company stands behind its products.

We give this a Silver medal for its low price, accuracy and fast response. Without a hold or min/max function, it might be difficult to get a reading unless you can see the display while probing the food.

grouchy?

1) Please try the search box at the top of every page before you ask for help.

2) Try to post your question to the appropriate page.

3) Tell us everything we need to know to help such as the type of cooker and thermometer. Dial thermometers are often off by as much as 50°F so if you are not using a good digital thermometer we probably can’t help you with time and temp questions. Please read this article about thermometers.
