The ThermoWorks RT610B-12 is a relatively inexpensive unit that has a long probe, a wide temperature range and is sealed against moisture. It cannot be left in the oven/grill while cooking.
The on/off switch doubles as a hold button to capture a temperature reading. The other button has a min/max function and is used to change between F and C scales. The thermometer does not have an auto-off feature.
The manufacturer’s contact info, including telephone number and website, is found on the instruction sheet. There is no explicit warranty stated, but this manufacturer stands behind its products.
We give this thermometer a Bronze rating for its suitability to task and good construction. While this unit has good accuracy, its response time is a little slow for an instant read. The long probe and its diameter suggest that it was designed for other than quick food checking. It’s a good unit, but not the best for our purposes.
