ThermoWorks RT8400 Talking Digital Thermometer Review

ThermoWorks RT8400 Talking Digital Thermometer Review

The ThermoWorks RT8400 Talking Digital Thermometer has a wide temperature range, excellent accuracy, and moderate response times. It speaks the temperature when the yellow button is pressed. It cannot be left in the oven/grill while cooking.

The notable feature of this thermometer is its ability to speak the temperature. Pressing the yellow button will turn it on or announce the temperature if it’s already on. It will auto-shutoff after about 10 minutes of inactivity. There is no statement of resistance to moisture, and the construction suggests that it should be kept away from water. The response times make it a marginal choice as an instant read thermometer, but its voice capability might be a huge advantage for some users.

The manufacturer’s contact info, including telephone number and website, is found on the instruction sheet. There is no explicit warranty stated, but this manufacturer stands behind its products.

We give this a Bronze medal for overall performance and its unique voice capability

grouchy?

1) Please try the search box at the top of every page before you ask for help.

2) Try to post your question to the appropriate page.

3) Tell us everything we need to know to help such as the type of cooker and thermometer. Dial thermometers are often off by as much as 50°F so if you are not using a good digital thermometer we probably can’t help you with time and temp questions. Please read this article about thermometers.
