As the name suggests, the Backyard Grill 4-Burner Gas Grill is a generic gasser. It is made for those who are more interested in price than performance and durability. It has four 12,000 BTU main burners and a 12,000 BTU side burner that is flush mounted on the right side shelf.
The burners are relatively high output considering price, which is a plus for this mid-size device. It also includes battery powered ignition at each control knob, a nice feature, but even on higher quality grills dedicated electronic ignition can be prone to failure. The bottle opener on the control panel works. The cheap hood ornament heat indicator does not. Be sure to get an accurate digital thermometer by using our Searchable Thermometer Reviews.
This low cost line is offered in two, three, four and five burner models with blue, black, red and stainless steel finishes. Backyard Grill would be just another cheap Chinese gasser were it not a Walmart brand. BG’s presence on Walmart’s BBQ showroom floors and website ensures you’ll see them around. If you’re looking for something in this price range and can wait for Fall closeouts when all the big box stores unload grills, you’ll get much more bang for the buckage from better value priced brands brands like Char-Broil.
