Nexgrill 4-Burner Propane Gas Grill with Stainless Steel Lid Review

Share on:
Nexgrill 4-burner Black With Stainless Steel

If your three most important criteria when shopping for a new outdoor gas grill are price, price, and price, you have a friend in Nexgrill. Nexgrill specializes in low-cost outdoor cooking products. Their vast catalog includes grills, smokers, fryers, griddles, and pizza ovens in all shapes and sizes. You can easily get your hands on many Nexgrill products at any Home Depot across the United States to kick the tires before buying.

While recently strolling Home Depot’s aisles, the $199 price of this four-burner caught our attention. It’s stripped down and lightweight to be sure, but big for the bucks. It weighs only 76.5 pounds while measuring 24″D x 49″W x 46″H. The open-air cart is porcelain coated steel with left and right side shelves, a couple of tool hooks, and two large plastic wheels. A stainless steel lid covers thin, porcelain-coated cooking grates. The four, 10,000 BTU stainless steel burners aren’t superpowered but may be adequate for the 421 square inch primary cook surface, resulting in a heat flux rating of 95.01 (Heat Flux is the BTU per square inch and is a more useful measure of how much heat a grill delivers than BTU alone). A single, battery-powered ignitor fires up all four burners. Porcelain-coated steel heat tents help sizzle drippings and even out heat. A large, funnel-shaped drip plate slides in from the back, under the burners, and channels grease into a small, slide-out grease cup.

Unless you need portability, we advise going big, with a minimum of three burners so you can easily create 2 zone setups with one hot zone and one moderate zone. This four-burner gasser gives you ample cooking capacity whether roasting a chicken over a moderate 2-zone setup or sizzling a bunch of burgers with all burners cranked high. Click here to learn the essential concepts of 2-zone cooking.

The limited warranty of 5 years for the burners and 1 year for everything else is weak. Obviously, you get what you pay for. This won’t have the performance or durability of a more expensive grill, however, at the end of the day everyone has a budget, and if $200 is your pain threshold this could be for you.
