Is the Typhur Grill Brush Bot the Mother of all grill brushes?
2026 was a turbulent year for grill brushes starting with a recall of over 3.2 million Weber brushes, followed by massive recalls from Nexgrill, Cuisinart and Walmart’s Expert Grills. By Fall, the number of recalled brushes added up to around 20 million! The culprit? Steel wire bristles that can dislodge from their handles and end up stuck in people’s throats and digestive tracts.
We’ve long warned of the dangers of wire brushes and recommended alternatives. Grill brush manufacturers and sellers were quick to swoop in and replace their metal bristle models. Typhur entered the game and raised the stakes with the Typhur Grill Brush Bot.
Not a bot
The Typhur Grill Brush Bot is not a grill cleaning robot that works independently. It’s a rechargeable, hand held device that cleans your grates with an electric powered spinning roller. Instead of short, sharp metal bristles, the Grill Brush Bot uses a bristle-free mesh design.

A luxury grill brush? What will they think of next?
Popping open the box, we immediately noticed the quality construction and elegant, attractive design of the Typhur Grill Brush Bot.

Steam clean
Unlike nylon grill brushes that must be used on cold grates, Brush Bot is designed for hot grills at around 400°F.

Dip the waterproof roller mechanism in water to generate steam and break down grease while the spinning mesh scrubs away.

Use Typhur’s scraper/bottle opener (included) to scrape off any errant gobs of gunk the roller missed. The scraper can also be used before brushing to remove large debris and clean corners and edges.
When finished, pop out the roller and place it in your dishwasher. Typhur cautions, “the device should cool down before removing the roller head. Only the detachable roller head is dishwasher-safe; the electric main body is not.”
How exciting can a grill brush be?
“Plenty!” is Typhur’s response. Buckle up, stand back and press play on their video above.

The Grill Brush Bot is indeed impressive. But the actual results aren’t quite as dramatic as Typhur’s promo imagery led us to believe. In this photo, we used a nylon cool surface brush on the left side of our grate and the Grill Brush Bot on the right. Yes the Brush Bot is noticeably better, but it didn’t effortlessly rip up all our burned on, carbonized residue leaving behind only sparkling, bare metal like it does in the video.
Conclusion for the Typhur Grill Brush Bot
The MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) for Brush Bot is $99.99. That’s a lot for a grill brush. While there is no track record for this new product, the design quality and construction are top-notch and the mesh roller appears well-made and safe. Even though Brush Bot is not a magic wand to transform your black, greasy grill back to its shining, pristine newness, it did a good job on our dirty grate, producing moderate, but noticeably better results than our manual, nylon brush.
The Typhur Grill Brush Bot may not be for everyone. But if you didn’t blink at the price and you love your grill, it could make a fun addition to your backyard tool box, or a gift for the proverbial griller who has everything. We give the Typhur Grill Brush Bot our Silver Medal.
We thank Typhur for providing a Grill Brush Bot for our tests.
