Find your comfort zone with the Yeti Trailhead Camp Chair
The Yeti Trailhead Camp Chair is a well-made product that opens and closes easily, providing a rugged and comfortable seat. It includes an ambidextrous drink cup that can be placed on either side, and a zip-up carry bag with backpack straps. The chair is rated for 500 pounds (226 kg) and itself weighs 13.3 pounds (6 kg). You can choose between navy or charcoal colors. The seat material breathes well and is claimed to be UV-resistant so the color won’t fade. It’s a large chair as far as outdoor chairs go, so it should accommodate larger campers’ posteriors.
Durability
As a full-time RVer, I’ve gone through more than a few folding chairs meant for outdoor use. Almost every seat I’ve ever used has been hard to open and close. The plastic slides bind and make opening them or closing them difficult. The plastic sliders frequently crack, making the chair unusable. A month outside will usually render the fabric faded and weak, resulting in a potentially dangerous fall-through. Even chairs rated for heavier users won’t withstand the ravages of ultraviolet light. I don’t think I’ve gotten through an entire summer without replacing a chair or two. I’m hoping this chair breaks that mold.

Extras
The Yeti Trailhead Camp Chair comes in a hefty carrying bag that has shoulder straps and a zipper. The bag itself looks big enough for a set of golf clubs. The camp chair employs three latches to keep the seat material taut and in place. All you have to do is push down on the arm rests until they click, and then you push down on the rear latch until it snaps into place. Neither requires much force, and releasing the catches when you’re ready to fold them up is a snap, literally.
The quality of the chair is apparent, but it comes at a price. Each Yeti Trailhead Camp Chair will set you back $300. I can vouch for the comfort of the seat, but I cannot predict the longevity of the product when subjected to the ultraviolet rays of the summer sun.
