Traeger PTG Pellet Smoker Review

By:

Max Good, AmazingRibs.com’s Full-Time Grill Tester

There aren't many portable pellet smokers and the PTG (Portable Traeger Grill) is the smallest we've reviewed. Still this unique little cooker has some useful applications and earns our AmazingRibs.com Silver Medal.

Max Good, AmazingRibs.com’s Full-Time Grill Tester

Weber electric grills get pretty hot so we award them our AmazingRibs.com Silver Medal. Our review describes Q 2400's two aluminum heat retention liners that prevent heat from escaping. Additionally, the conductive properties of coated cast iron grates on all Q models help produce good sear marks.

We reviewed the Q 1400, Weber's small, portable electric grill. These Q electrics get hotter than many other brands. Weber attributes this to two interior, aluminum heat retention liners that prevent heat from escaping. Also, the conductive properties of coated cast iron grates on all Q models help make tasty sear marks.

grouchy? 1) Please try the search box at the top of every page before you ask for help. 2) Try to post your question to the appropriate page. 3) Tell us everything we need to know to help such as the type of cooker and thermometer. Dial thermometers are often off by as much as 50°F so if you are not using a good digital thermometer we probably can't help you with time and temp questions. Please read this article about thermometers. 4) If you are a member of the Pitmaster Club, your comments login is probably different. 5) Posts with links in them may not appear immediately.
