Char-Broil Combination Charcoal and Gas Grill Review

By:

Max Good, AmazingRibs.com’s Full-Time Grill Tester

This Char-Broil model may be a little better than other inexpensive combo grills, but read our review to learn why we can't recommend it. It's an appealing idea, but you're better off getting separate grills. Even a large Weber Kettle is under a hundred dollars and there's no shortage of low cost gassers at all the big box stores.

Smoke Hollow Charcoal/Gas Grill Model 1800CGS Review

By:

Max Good, AmazingRibs.com’s Full-Time Grill Tester

We don't recommend most side by side smoker grills. Read our review to learn why. Charcoal/Gas combo grills like this Smoke Hollow model are offered by a lot of manufacturers. For about the same cost, two separate grills are a better option. Even Weber kettle charcoal grill can sell for under a hundred dollars and you trip over all the low cost gassers every time you walk Lowes or Home Depot.

Charmglow 95 Inch Luxury Island Review

By:

Max Good, AmazingRibs.com’s Full-Time Grill Tester

This "Luxury Island" created a compelling picture and offered visions of grandeur โ€“ a spectacular outdoor kitchen in a box. Take a hard look at the price tag then look again without rose colored glasses. This "luxury" patio island is poorly designed and poorly constructed with cheap materials.

Char-Broil Classic 6-Burner Review

By:

Max Good, AmazingRibs.com’s Full-Time Grill Tester

It's not our first choice by any means, but if you really have a tight budget, you could sure do a lot worse. Many people who own one of the Classic Series economy grills seem reasonably happy to accept them for what they are โ€“ made cheap to sell cheap, earning our AmazingRibs.com Best Value Bronze Medal.

Backyard Grill 4-Burner Gas Grill Review

By:

Max Good, AmazingRibs.com’s Full-Time Grill Tester

As the name suggests, the Backyard Grill 4-Burner Gas Grill is a generic gasser. We can't recommend this brand which is made for those who are more interested in price than performance and durability. It has four 12,000 BTU main burners and a 12,000 BTU side burner that is flush mounted on the right side shelf.

Char Broil 2-Burner Classic Review

By:

Max Good, AmazingRibs.com’s Full-Time Grill Tester

This little 2-burner gas grill is popular with folks on a tight budget. You get what you pay for, you could sure do a lot worse in this low price range. Many people who own one of the Classic Series economy grills seem reasonably happy with their purchase. We give Classic our AmazingRibs.com Best Value Bronze Medal.

Kenmore 6 Burner Stainless Steel Gas Grill Review

By:

Max Good, AmazingRibs.com’s Full-Time Grill Tester

Kenmore's 6 Burner Stainless Steel Gas Grill is big and shiny. What it lacks in quality, Kenmore tries to make up for with size, knobs and doors. We reviewed this model. It has six low power 8000 BTU stainless steel tube burners and a 13,000 BTU side burner. It comes with coated cast iron grates.

Cookshack Charbroiler CB036 Review

By:

Max Good, AmazingRibs.com’s Full-Time Grill Tester

The Cookshack Charbroiler CB036 is a commercial, pellet fired grill meant for professional use. We reviewed the 36" model. It also comes in a smaller 24" model and larger 48" model. Unlike most pellet cookers that are designed for smoking, CB036 reaches searing temps of 700ยฐ to sizzle steaks and burgers while imparting a nice whiff of smoky flavor.

ThermoWorks DOT TX-1200 Review

By:

Bill McGrath, AmazingRibs.com Chief Thermometer Reviewer

The ThermoWorks DOT TX-1200 is intended for use in food while cooking. It has a large readout, an easily-set alarm temperature and a long probe cable. It has a rapid response time that would allow it to double as an instant-read thermometer if desired. We gave it a top rating for its build quality and performance.

Arizona BBQ Outfitters Scottsdale Cooker Review

By:

Max Good, AmazingRibs.com’s Full-Time Grill Tester

Arizona BBQ Outfitter's Scottsdale Cooker is a clever design that melds an adjustable height charcoal grill with a Santa Maria, vertical lift grill. Read our review of this unique cooker. Most vertical lift grills have no hood, which limits their capability to some degree. Scottsdale employs a removable hood and back windbreak.

Traeger Select PRO Pellet Smoker Review

By:

Max Good, AmazingRibs.com’s Full-Time Grill Tester

The Traeger Select PRO is a large residential pellet smoker mounted on a double door cart. Although it has an upgraded digital controller, it is still an older style notched dial control like those made by Ortech. Not as good as a touch pad, but not bad. We give this one our AmazingRibs.com Silver Medal.

Traeger Lil’ Tex PRO Pellet Smoker Review

By:

Max Good, AmazingRibs.com’s Full-Time Grill Tester

The Lil' Tex PRO is a medium size starter model in Traeger's line of residential pellet smokers. Although it has an upgraded digital controller, it is still an older style notched dial control like those made by Ortech. Not as good as a touch pad, but not bad. We give this one our AmazingRibs.com Silver Medal.

Coyote CCX2-LP โ€œGrill in a Boxโ€ Review

By:

Max Good, AmazingRibs.com’s Full-Time Grill Tester

Cosmetic flaws might have been forgiven if performance shined as brightly as Coyote's stainless hood. Unfortunately this grill has a remarkably uneven heat pattern, forcing one to constantly flip flop foods from the hot zones directly above the burners to various less-hot zones everywhere else.
