Celebrate With Finger Food And Cocktails Or A Special Dinner
It’s party time around the world! Out with the old and in with the new! Did you know that the first countries to ring in the new year are Tonga, Samoa, and Kiribati in the Pacific Islands? The last to raise a glass is on the opposite side of the globe in the outlying islands of the United States.
Wherever you celebrate, it’s high time to let the year’s troubles fall away and count your blessings. Yes, it’s been a tough year all over the world, but New Year’s Eve is a time to remember the good things and look to a better year ahead. Let there be music, dancing, fireworks, good food and drink, and of course, a champagne toast at the strike of midnight. In the U.S., the annual Times Square ball drop in New York City will still be televised, albeit without spectators. Tune in and enjoy the festivities.
Whether you prefer to spend the evening with a meal of endless appetizers and cocktails or an extravagant sit-down dinner, we’ve got all kinds of recipes to fit the bill. Sip your beverage of choice (including some smoked variations below!) and graze on snacks like Frico Cheese Crisps, homemade Boursin Spread with crackers, Sandra’s Candied Cocktail Wienies, the easiest Moink Balls ever, and Oysters Grilled with Roasted Garlic Butter and Romano. Or sit down to a very special meal of Surf and Turf or Rack of Lamb with creamy Lobster Bisque, Grill Roasted Brussel Sprouts, and Grilled Hasselback Sweet Potatoes, capped off with Lusty Chocolate Truffles for dessert.
Happy New Year!
