Char-Broil’s Table Top Gas Grill is a burner in a box. Read our review. Lightweight and inexpensive with a single, 11,000 BTU burner that is fueled by 16.4 oz. or 14.1 oz. propane cylinders. Lightweight is the operative word which is good for portability, not so good for durability. We give it our AmazingRibs.com Bronze Medal.
Read our review. BODUM’s FYRKAT Picnic Charcoal Grill is a small, portable kettle with a cool look, available in bright red and lime green. 15 inch diameter and 5.6 pound weight make it slightly smaller than the far superior Weber Smoky Joe which we unequivocally recommend over this product.
Meco, the company that owns Aussie Grills, sold two Electric Smokers under the Meco label, but recently decided to rename the brand Southern Country. We reviewed this model and awarded our AmazingRibs.com Best Value Bronze Medal.
Rome Industries’ Adjustable Cooking Grate is designed to fit in a standard fireplace or a fire pit at a campsite. We give this model our AmazingRibs.com Best Value Bronze Medal.

Slide the lid on, turn your exhaust fan on high, turn the burner on high, and in about 30 minutes you have smoked, moist meat.
Aussies are great for searing burgers, but not so much for roasting larger cuts, or cooking over a long duration. They have a very shallow lid, little air control and no ash removal system. We reviewed this model and awarded our Bronze Medal. Great portability, but limited for cooking capability.

Oklahoma Joe’s Rider DLX Pellet Grill has some very unique and clever features: a lever that shifts from smoke to sear and the best pellet hopper clean out system we’ve seen. During our testing and review we found a lot to like about OKJ’s Rider DLX, but some serious flaws prevent us from recommending it at this time.
The IG Charcoal BBQ Grill has a simple, cosmetically appealing design that is best suited for direct, high-temperature grilling. Read our review to learn why we cannot recommend this grill to our readers. The poor build quality, cheap materials and rather serious design flaws garner a “Not Recommended” rating.
Char-Broil’s Gas2Coal Grill is a new iteration of an old design. They released different versions of this basic design before. Read our review to find why we think it’s not a bad gas grill and not a good charcoal grill. We recommend folks who want to use both fuels in this price range, spend just a little extra and get separate gas and charcoal grills.
Although these grills are popular and inexpensive, read our review to learn why we suggest you consider Weber’s Jumbo Joe Portable Grill instead. Weber’s superior construction provides much better heat control. It has almost the same amount of cook surface, costs less, and will last forever.
Dyna-Glo makes basically the same grill for Lowe’s under the Master Forge label. A lot of people like it, so we went to kick the tires for this review and were sorry to find it is about as flimsy as flimsy gets. It’s so cheaply constructed that it made the POJ Char-Griller on display next to it look good.
This Char-Broil model may be a little better than other inexpensive combo grills, but read our review to learn why we can’t recommend it. It’s an appealing idea, but you’re better off getting separate grills. Even a large Weber Kettle is under a hundred dollars and there’s no shortage of low cost gassers at all the big box stores.
We don’t recommend most side by side smoker grills. Read our review to learn why. Charcoal/Gas combo grills like this Smoke Hollow model are offered by a lot of manufacturers. For about the same cost, two separate grills are a better option. Even Weber kettle charcoal grill can sell for under a hundred dollars and you trip over all the low cost gassers every time you walk Lowes or Home Depot.
As the name suggests, the Backyard Grill 4-Burner Gas Grill is a generic gasser. We can’t recommend this brand which is made for those who are more interested in price than performance and durability. It has four 12,000 BTU main burners and a 12,000 BTU side burner that is flush mounted on the right side shelf.
This cheap 4-burner gas grill has 12,000 BTU main tube burners, a 12,000 BTU side burner, and porcelain coated cast iron grates. DON’T BUY IT! You’re much better off exploring our Searchable Equipment Reviews for something better.
Char-Broil has done it again, literally. They released different versions of this basic design before. It’s not a bad gas grill and not a good charcoal grill. We reviewed this model and strongly recommend folks who want to use both fuels in this price range, spend just a little extra and get separate gas and charcoal grills.
Just say no to cheap offset smokers like American Gourmet. Read our review to find out why. You definitely get what you pay for. Yes, the sticker price is low, the big horizontal drum looks so tough and cool, and if you don’t mind spending time and money for parts, (not to mention ruined meat), you may eventually learn to make halfway decent stuff.

The BioLite Portable Grill is an attachment for their compact, portable Campstove. We asked our science adviser, Dr. Greg Blonder to test and review this new grill. Although he had some appreciation for the CampStove, he was not pleased with the grill and we cannot recommend it.
Read our review. The Masterbuilt 30″ Electric Digital Smokehouse with Top Control, (also made with the Cabela’s label), is a clever concept, with flawed execution.execution.
We reviewed Char-Broil’s Big Easy Electric Infrared Smoker and Roaster. The clever, innovative design looks better on paper than in practice. It takes up only a small footprint, but the same can be said of the other cabinet style, front loading propane smokers, and they all work better including the one by Char-Broil.
We’ve heard complaints about the bisquettes sticking the feed tube. And one must ask, what if they go out of biz? Where do we get bisquettes then? On the plus side, Bradley has an active user forum and their staff are there to help. Still, after reviewing, we don’t recommend this model.

Read our review to find out why the only good thing we can say about the Char-Griller Smokin’ Pro is the price is unbeatable. Many wide-eyed first time smokers thought it made sense to buy this tin can as a starter model. The problem with the Smokin’ Pro and many other cheap offset smokers is they are hard to use.
Read our review to learn why we do not like or recommend cheap offset smokers like Char-Broil Silver. Yes, the sticker price is low, the big horizontal drum looks like your BBQ dream come true, and if you don’t mind spending time and money for parts, (not to mention ruined meat), you may eventually get one to work OK.
Our review of low cost Dyna-Glo’s take on a combo, side-by-side grill. You can see why these 2-in-one grills are popular. The concept is cool, but we don’t recommend many of them. You can get two separate grills for about the same price.
The claim to fame of this new Member’s Mark Series is thermostatic control. These grills can operate in BBQ Mode or Thermostatic Control Mode. BBQ Mode works like all gas grills; you lower or increase cooking temp by spinning the burner control knobs. Thermostatic Control Mode turns your grill into an outdoor gas oven.

The $199 price of this four burner caught our attention. It’s stripped down and light weight to be sure, but big for the bucks. It weighs only 76.5 pounds while measuring 24″D x 49″W x 46″H. If $200 is your pain threshold this could be for you.
Weber’s Searwood pellet grills look a lot more like other pellet smokers than its previous Smokefire model. Will they still produce the excellent results of their predecessors while eliminating their problems? Here’s what we know.

When the previous iteration of Bullseye rolled out, we were among the many who were disappointed. It was quickly discontinued. Read our review of this new model which appears to address some of our complaints.
Blowin’ Smoke’s Gameday is a big trailer smoker for pitmasters with big aspirations. Read our review of this big boy. The 60 inch long smoke box is separated into two sections and the large section is big enough for a whole hog. Blowin’ Smoke adds a charcoal grill on the front and a gas burner on the back for a fry pot.
Otto’s G32 Connected Gas Grills were scheduled to roll out in the fall of 2020 and the G32 Smart models in the spring of 2021. Looks like they’ll miss those dates. Read our review of these big Event Grills which are often purchased for various club, company and church events, where they may be used by a variety of cooks who may or may not take very good care of them. As they are not built for heavy use, they are ironically not constructed to withstand the rigors of events.
The Member’s Mark Stainless Steel and Porcelain 5-Burner Gas Grill is a Sam’s Club exclusive made cheap to sell cheap for the disposable gas grill crowd. Read our review. All in all not too bad considering price and if you like to throw gassers out every couple years rather than clean and maintain them.
If you went to see the new Star Wars movie in full costume, (you know who you are), if you have a collection of unopened Star Wars toys proudly displayed on a shelf, if you BBQ with tongs in one hand and a light saber in the other…have I got a grill for you! This grill is hard to find in the USA, but we couldn’t resist reviewing it anyway.
We reviewed this mid-size, charcoal vertical cabinet cooker which is gaining popularity for home and competition use. We’ve heard complaints about the bisquettes sticking the feed tube. And one must ask, what if they go out of biz? Where do we get bisquettes then? On the plus side, Bradley has an active user forum and their staff are there to help. Still, after reviewing, we don’t recommend this model.

Pit Boss earned their reputation as one of the best manufacturers of low-cost pellet grills, with a diverse array of sizes, colors, and features, plus a few exclusive models for mass merchants. Check out our full review of one of these — their mid-size Pit Boss Lexington 500 – Onyx.
The new Weber SmokeFire Sear+ continues to improve upon the many impressive features of Weber’s innovative, one-of-a-kind pellet grill design. Sear+ will not be available until sometime this spring, but we were treated to a sneak peek at Weber’s test kitchen. We’ll test Sear+ and publish our full, detailed review soon. Stay tuned.
Weber introduces Lumin electric grills “designed for those with limited outdoor space and electric-first people who crave barbecue’s authentic, delicious flavors…” Although electric grills aren’t new, interest in all things electric are trending and grill manufacturers view this trend as an emerging new opportunity.
We’ve always loved the PK Original and now that the family is growing, there’s even more to love. PK’s quest to build a better mousetrap has proven successful so far and appears to be gaining momentum. Their approach has been logical and elegant in equal parts.
Read our review anyway because if they can accomplish their goal soon, it will be groundbreaking. The Smart Grill is said to provide thermostatic control which let’s you monitor and control precise cooking temperatures from a smart phone. Others have tried without success. Stay tuned.

It may not be the most practical choice for most cooks, but it appears to be well suited to some of his primitive, rustic styles of open-fire cooking.
The Barrel House Cooker makes an 18 inch diameter UDS that very closely resembles Pit Barrel Cooker, a company we admire very much. Indeed, Pit Barrel took legal action against Barrel House. Read our review. In a settlement, the owners of Pit Barrel received a lump sum and acquired Barrel House.
The 30″ Member’s Mark Outdoor Gas Grill is a Sam’s Club exclusive made cheap to sell cheap for the disposable gas grill crowd. Read our review. Five 10,000 BTU stainless steel tube burners covered with stainless flame tents to disperse heat. A 15,000 BTU ceramic infrared sear burner is located in the right side shelf.
Although crafted from heavy steel and 1200° insulation with locking latches that clamp the firebox and smokebox doors shut, it is not air tight and leaks smoke in certain areas by design.
Texas Original Pits Luling Offset Smoker 20″ x 32″ x 18″ is their most popular model. We reviewed this heavy metal classic offset. Yes it looks like those cheap offsets sold in big box stores, but this is the real deal: a classic, no-frills, 1/4″ thick steel Texas Pit named after the Luling Oil Field northwest of Luling, TX.

Check out our review of Alfa Pizza’s 5 Minuti, which is so named for the ability to heat up quickly, although Alfa recommends you give it 15 minutes before cooking. Metal pizza ovens are known to heat up quickly in contrast to the traditional refractory ovens made with clay or modern refractory material.
Fontana considers The Forno Toscano Margherita Wood Fired Pizza Oven to be their signature product. Instead of bricks or cast refractory material, Fontana uses heavily insulated steel construction which heats up faster than refractory ovens, but cools off faster as well. Check out our review of this pizza oven package which includes the refractory wood oven and chimney, metal stand, clay chimney cap, CD ROM for instruction, and a steel door with built-in thermometer. Built-in dial thermometers are inaccurate. Forno Bravo recommends getting an Infrared Gun Thermometer for an accurate reading of the floor and dome temps.

Read our review of Char-Griller’s Wrangler. It’s a generic barrel style charcoal grill. This same design is offered by other manufacturers and Char-Griller makes the same basic barrel in a few different sizes with slightly different features. This one has an adjustable height charcoal tray, removable ash pan, side shelf and front shelf.
Dyna-Glo’s Vertical Charcoal Offset Smoker is one of the few low-cost Vertical Offsets we’ve reviewed. We advise readers to avoid purchasing cheap horizontal barrel offsets, but this inexpensive vertical smoker should mitigate one of the primary flaws of horizontal offsets: heat travels upward not sideways.
The Dyna-Glo Dual Zone Charcoal Grill looks good on paper, but we are skeptical of the quality from this manufacturer. The good news in our review is that it has two, independently adjustable charcoal trays, a unique feature which could be useful, and a removable firebox divider to isolate the two zones.
We reviewed this unusual device. The Cajun Express Smoker is a pressure cooker with smoke. Moisture is introduced into the double walled, sealed smoke box via a patented hydration system. Wood chips create smoke within the high pressure, humid environment cooking meats quickly while imparting smoke flavor and retaining moisture.
Chinese manufacturer Nexgrill licensed the KitchenAid name and slaps it on the lid of some basic gas grills. This 2-burner appears to perform OK and may not be a bad deal if you can catch it on sale. And it’s always on sale.
Kenmore’s 6 Burner Stainless Steel Gas Grill is big and shiny. What it lacks in quality, Kenmore tries to make up for with size, knobs and doors. We reviewed this model. It has six low power 8000 BTU stainless steel tube burners and a 13,000 BTU side burner. It comes with coated cast iron grates.
The Cookshack Charbroiler CB036 is a commercial, pellet fired grill meant for professional use. We reviewed the 36″ model. It also comes in a smaller 24″ model and larger 48″ model. Unlike most pellet cookers that are designed for smoking, CB036 reaches searing temps of 700° to sizzle steaks and burgers while imparting a nice whiff of smoky flavor.
Arizona BBQ Outfitter’s Scottsdale Cooker is a clever design that melds an adjustable height charcoal grill with a Santa Maria, vertical lift grill. Read our review of this unique cooker. Meats are clamped in a grill basket, and then inserted in a slot that runs between the two walls of charcoal where both sides are cooked simultaneously, decreasing cook times and eliminating flipping.
Big Poppa’s Drum Smoker Kit is gaining popularity. We reviewed this kit which includes everything you need to make an Ugly Drum Smoker, aka UDS, including a high quality stainless steel barrel.
We reviewed this beautifully designed and crafted 3-burner which has all the attributes one would expect from a luxury grill: High quality 304 stainless steel construction with seamless welds, and powerful 27,500 BTU burners that produce a wide range of temps from low and slow to a blazing sear.
We reviewed the Gridiron pellet smoker which is Blaz’n Grill Works’ largest model. The basic design is typical of many pellet smokers, but Blaz’n Grill offers a few unique features. Foremost is the easy clean burn pot which allows you to bypasses the task of lifting the greasy grates and drip pan to clean out ash.
Read our review of this commercial smoker. Eighteen racks, said to handle up to 1000 pounds, move slowly on a rotary carousel. The rotary motion promotes even heat and allows meats to self-baste as drippings are recirculated to the racks below. When the front doors are opened, dampers operate automatically to hold smoke in and prevent it from billowing out.
Read our review. Although Pitt’s & Spitt’s Combo 18″ X 30″ Smoker Pit is one of their smallest models, with 810 square inches of cook surface it’s large for residential use. We like residential offset smokers with the firebox underneath rather than on the side because heat naturally travels upward, not sideways.
